As I've been quite inactive these last three weeks I'd like to apologize on behalf of the ET team who were unfortunately left alone without any real knowing of what was going on.
However, as I am now back with everything sorted to get into business again, we'll need to look forward. What's up next and what's currently happening in TG?
Firstly though, I'd like to remind everyone to register at our community forums, that's where we discuss and chat and that is where you will get important information unless it is put up here! Register at --> http://www.thegatheringclan.org/frame/ Or simply follow the link "Forums" on the top menu bar.
Now, a brief update on the gaming side.
Enemy Territory
After some disputes with both ClanBase Chiefs and opponents in this falls Open Cup TG has decided, also due to some internal conflict to withdraw from the cup. I solely take the responsibility for this as I am the team captain. However, this does not mean that the team has seen an end of it's days. As of next Monday I and Cupcake will look closely into what we got and what we can make out of the division. Hopefully, we'll have 6 eager players ready to take on some ladders and cups soon again. The players are around, just gotta patch everything together again.
Call Of Duty 4
The Swedish team that was recruited this fall had to, after some unfortunate events IRL for the team captain Jimriniho, take a break. There were also some troubles concerning servers and players going inactive. However, as of this week the team is back in full swing again with both Nux and Jim stating that things are moving forward. New players will be recruited and for those of you interested there will be more updates on this matter coming weeks.
Heroes Of Newerth
HoN struck down like a lightning bolt a couple of months ago and is by now growing into being a great competative and fun game. ESL has announced tournaments and a 5on5 ladder has recently been opened. We have got severeal by now experienced players in TG who will hopefully in a near future come together as a team under the TG banner and participate in upcoming events. If you as a TG member would like to be a part of this then get in contact with Ehnen who will take the position as team captain.
---
With that said the TG Staff wishes you a nice gaming weekend with lots of bad weather! For questions and support; contact TG|Zymon at Xfire --> theflakkman
Happy fraggin'

Free Wallace and Gromit game |
|
|
|
Today Telltale Games joins Aardman Animations in celebrating Wallace & Gromit's 20th anniversary by opening up free downloads of one of the critically-acclaimed series' episodes, Muzzled! until noon (PST) Monday, November 9.
Additionally, the full four-episode PC season of Wallace & Gromit's Grand Adventures will be discounted to $20 (roughly 12 GBP) from $34.95 USD for these same dates in honor of the eccentric inventor and his canine companion's two decade milestone.
In Muzzled! town newcomer, Monty Muzzle, is holding a fundraiser to rebuild the local dog shelter. Gromit soon realizes that Muzzle's intentions aren't exactly charitable and he must foil the huckster's plot to save the town's investment and rescue his canine friends. In the review for Muzzled!, Armchair Empire hails the game as the best episode to that point with "strong story (a hallmark of all three episodes), a refreshing setting change to the carnival grounds, and a starring role for Gromit." Gamervision said of Muzzled!, "The humor is spot on, the new characters and locations are entertaining, and it's obvious that Telltale has really found the niche into which Wallace and Gromit's story fits."

Coming weeks should be interesting in a TG-Gamers point of view!
As the first Open Cup match for the TG ET Squad got wildcarded the match will be played 19th of October instead. The second matchweek might suffer the same outcome due to dev1ous not being able to get a lineup for next Sunday.
What's good with that is that hopefully the ET guys will get more chance to practise together and sharpen their knifes a bit more! More updates on this will be coming!
And as the ET teams reliable headshotmachine Eagle stated; "It's going to be insane..."
What also should be mentioned is that if you as well as I am waiting with anticipation for Left4Dead 2 to arrive, then now is your chance to win it! You can read more about both competitions that is currently hosted in our community over in our community forums at TheGroupThing:

Recently there has been an lack of activity within TG. But things have begun to look better as the Cod4 squad is currently recruiting and our beloved Enemy Territroy lineup is competing in the ClanBase Open Cup. However, if this ship will be able to continue with riding on the waves like we currently do, we need the help from you as a member to keep it floating. The Gathering is a special gaming community in many ways, we are based on the thought that gaming should be about having fun and meeting new friends. The community is what is most important and that should be essential for all members who consider themself a part of TG.
As we in 2009 joined TheGroupThing our community has grown even bigger. What we admins ask of you as a member is that you show that you are here with us and that you express your thoughts and opinions on what we should do and not do here in TG. It's not me nor the other admins that makes TG what it is, it's YOU.
There are at the moment several gathers being hosted within TGT and now we also have 2 competions running where you can win Left4Dead 2. But we could have even more of that!
What you should do if you haven't:
Register an account on the TGT forums. Why? Because that is where we come together, where we discuss important events in the world and within the gaming community, host competitions, posts information and just generally spam!
Join the TGT Steam Group and Xfire Group. Why? Because you consider yourself a member of this community, you use our servers and play games together with other members because it's so much fun!
This is a must for everyone. If you do not like the way things are done here then you are welcome to contact any of the admins and express your thoughts about it. It's done in a couple of minutes and it's not much we ask for.

After some struggling with getting a stable lineup going the ET Squad is finally arriving at it's goal with this fall season; the Clanbase OpenCup. The season began well with a win versus vipteam in the Clanbase Seasonal Ladder.
But as it always is teams have their peaks and bottoms.
Cris, our rising team-captain had to move down to Spain. He was even so dedicated that he played the last official with us when all his belongings was already going down to Spain in a truck. All he kept at home was his computer and a cardboard-box to sit on. We had to make several pauses because his "chair" broke. Unfortunately we lost the match as well as Cris after this evening.
After that we got sad news from our damagewhore Jamzz explaining that he couldn't continue playing active due to having to much IRL things to take care of. So we where now down to 4 guys, our rescue arrived in Eagle a very skilled and good replacement for Jamzz, Zee who was already a friend of Hard and Carpet who has played in TG before and now returned. We where now 7 guys, with the motivation to carry on again. Even though we won our last two matches on the Seasonal Ladder we didn't make it to the play offs. The motivation was still here though and we kept on praccing, unfortunately due to our prac times being to late and Eagle wanting to play in a higher division in OpenCup he decided to leave us.
The team is now down to 6 strong guys with several semi-active backups to go bonanza in this fall's upcoming OpenCup! The team now consisting of: Cupcake {Medic} Zymon {Riflenade} Hard {Medic, FieldOp} Target {Medic, Covert} Zee {Medic} Carpet {Medic, FieldOp} Statement from Zee; " Our positions are very good with some nice players and if we can get rid of Hard then that would be the icing on the Cupcake!" So the groups have been announced and can be watched here. As you can see TG have been placed in the fourth division in group C! TG will be facing: dev1ous, nvm, Losie superktosie, Virtual Voyage and diLemma. Statement from Hard; "Coming soon." So hopefully this will be an very interesting fall for everyone related to TG! The matches will most likely be up on Gamestv.org for you all to watch them as well. Stay tuned for more information.
Cya on the servers!

At the Paris Game Festival this weekend Nadeo, the developers of the highly appriciated Trackmania-series announced that there will be a Trackmania 2 coming early next year. Trackmania United Forever currently got 5 million players registred and amongst them many TG Gamers, many believe that Trackmania 2 will be an even bigger hit.
There's still a lot of work that needs to be done on it but according to Nadeo there will be 3 different environments to race in and customizable blocks when making your own tracks.

A long time ago, in a galaxy far far way..
There was a clan called The Gathering. They numbered in the hundreds, their might unprecedented. All Jedi who wielded The Force under the proud banner of TG wielded it with great strength indeed. All but Colonel, who was and remains a complete and utter über nub. Many battles were fought, many triumphs were achieved. Many lamers were given the banhammer by the omnipotent admins, many innocent bystanders were mauled by the frantic /amexplode binds. Many nights were spent poking each other with glowy sticks on the streets of Bespin, many classes were neglected due to lack of sleep.
Dust of your lightsaber and join us for a night of nostalgia, reunion and silliness!

For the second interview I've chosen to speak with an what you might call old-timer in TG. He's known for chatting a lot in teamspeak and being a very friendly guy. You know who he is, AngelDust!
The Interview
Hi AD!
- You will address me as Sir.
Having been in TG for quite a while now, what has been your favourite moments here, any special happenings?
- TG gatherings. There is nothing like a bunch of like minded loons on a server trying to complete an objective that no one is sure what it is in the first place. Back in the good old days when I was still the sub-division leader of JK2. Nothing pleased me more than see you lot waving your sabers around, trying to get the gist of the game and failing miserably. Yet I felt so proud when you pulled off your first DFAs and lunges. Good times.
