Guys and Gals, it's that time of year again! While the summer days are long and we're all out having fun your friendly admins and the guys from the other clans in TGT are plotting for the return of the gaming weather later this year.
TGT already runs a beast of a dedi server, providing somewhere around 20 game servers for CSS, ET, UT, L4D, COD4, KF and we're planning to buy us yet more power so we can expand to cover servers for:
Wolfenstein 2 Operation Flashpoint 2 Left 4 Dead 2 and the much hyped Modern Warfare 2
This doesn't come cheap though, so we're having a good old fashioned recruitment drive to beef up the TGT bank account in time for the autumn. So spare a thought for what you'll be doing in 3 months time on those long, cold nights and see if you can chip in some money to the server fund
All you need to do is contact one of the TGT staff members or simply transfer via paypal to

Latest additions and happy holidays! |
Firstly we'd like to welcome back a long time member who's been spending some time in the army this last year.
Please welcome back... AngelDust! Angeldust (AD short) has previously been the JK2 Division Leader in TG and he has had smaller leading roles within the ET Division. It's good to have you around again!
While we are at it we'll also use this post to welcome yet another Swede into TG (Yay!). Please welcome Xaran as well, a rising star within UrT who hopefully will be able to attend some matches on the UrT ladder soon.
The staff at TG would also like to take the chance to wish all TG members and friends happy holidays and hopefully you'll have a great summer with lots of sun, ice cream and swimming!
Don't party to hard guys, we need to have everyone fit for fight in the autumn again Even though the summer holidays draws down the activity a bit there are still matches to be played, so if you are active and around enough during the summer then please contact our matchcoordinators Zymon and Tech for matchinformation.

New additions to TG's activities |

Every year TG's members play a bewildering range of game types and titles. From FPSs to MMORPGs, the clan has played them all, and 2009 sees this trend continue as ever. Since our glory days where everyone pretty much played JediKnight II and nothing else, we've seen members split into smaller groups, each playing different games, and 2009 is no different. We're keen to keep people in touch and informed though, so here's a short guide to our activities
Enemy Territory First, and always, is Enemy Territory. Our team has just restarted (see the homepage articles) and the free FPS is as popular as ever. The number of teams and players has slowly dwindled, but there is a strong community stretched across dozens of clans, and it's nice to see familiar faces each time you log onto a server. Our new team has plenty of old faces, almost all of which have been involved with TG in the past! Keep an eye out for fun-nights organised with our m8's from TGT.
Left 4 Dead This zombie thriller refuses to go away and it's popularity is as high as ever. The premise is simple - work as a team and fight your way out of the maps past hordes of bloody zombies. It's extremely good fun, and as you'd expect from a game produced by Valve it's glossy and well thought out. A huge number of TG and TGT members play this daily, so if you've got a spare €25 we recommend you get this.
Killing Floor Yet another zombie thriller! The plot line doesn't take a lot of explaining - boy meets girl, boy becomes mad government scientist and creates army of GM monster killers which eventually get loose and destroy london. Typical, really. The selling point is that it's a 6 man co-op which really does rely on teamwork to survive, as you try to hold maps against progressively stronger waves of these beasties waving chainsaws and claws at you. The graphics aren't all that, but the gameplay is addictive, and the teamwork is compelling. TGT is running a number of servers, and if you log into steam you'll see most of your TGT friends list is "green" and playing this game. €20 and you should be joining in!
Urban Terror Another free FPS which has a strong following, particularly within TG. Led by Tech and Punk, more and more players are getting involved in this game, and our server is becoming full of regular players who've obviously got us on their favourites list. Zymon and Tech have started a ClanBase team, so you should start seeing some results reported back here soon. The game is run on the Q3 engine, and should remind you a little bit of Counterstrike 1.6. Fast, furious and free to download! Go get it!

Tryouts for the ET lineup is coming to an end. Currently the lineup of six players looks like this:
Zymon
Cupcake
Pietje
Razzah
Absorb
SuperChunk
Ehnen
Vaaky
After some pracs together this team will hopefully pick up some speed and last throughout the summer whilst participating in various cups and leagues. Prac nights will be Wednesdays and Sundays @ 20.00ish CET.
The Urban Terror team won their first match this week a 2on2 versus r3. That the win was a forfeit win, isn't something anybody is keen to mention... We got a 5on5 match to play versus Oe, so all players that would want to play this match please contact Zymon or Tech as soon as possible.
If you are not yet added to our Enemy Territory roster or the Urban Terror one on ClanBase then please contact the two guys mentioned just above Either via PM or via Xfire.

TG will be fighting in Enemy Territory again |

The TG Enemy Territory division will return (again...) and get ready to compete in whatever competitions that lies ahead. The revival of the ET division will be lead by former TG bC captain Cupcake who is a known face within TG. By his side will Zymon help out with various tasks such as managing and help making sure that this will work.
Cupcake had the following to say: "I think it is really great and i am looking forward to it."
The lineup for the new TG team hasn't yet been announced, but various names have been brought up in the discussion and both managers are looking forward to getting to work. Meanwhile Cupcake and Zymon will be participating in the ClanBase 2v2 ladder playing for TG. And soon it will move on to 3v3 and 6v6.
Now with the UrT Division slowly picking up speed we should be able to get ourself a nice summer with hopefully a lot of success within the games we'll play.

Wolfenstein 2 Released Aug 4th! |

Can it be true? According to our sources (very mysterious, it really isn't), Wolfenstein 2 is scheduled for release on August the 4th. This is in the US at least, I can't imagine that the UK/EU release will be far behind at all. Good news and start saving

The Group Thing has been around for a little while now and we have accomplished quite a few things. We’ve had a whole new clan join our ranks and have our very own dedicated box running dozens of servers for our favourite games. Just recently we launched our league sites, for instance. But how do our individual members feel about all that is being done? What is their idea of The Group Thing and how do they like it here? We decided to ask them and find out how they feel about TGT and what TGT has become over the course of the past eleven months. We found that despite being somewhat sceptical in the beginning, people all came to love our community. When TGT was born there were some who had their doubts whether they or their clan would fit in into the bigger picture. Being a small, ‘no strings attached’ ETQW clan was exactly what people wanted to be for instance... Fortunately those doubts were set aside very swiftly. There are a great many advantages to being in a community such as ours. When Left 4 Dead released it became clear that being part of The Group Thing really is a good thing for all of us. We immediately got servers up, servers paid for by our very own members. As you all know we now have a dedicated server running over twenty of our favourite game servers. These are being flawlessly managed and set up by our server monkey Mustang; which brings us to another of our strengths. TGT provides for a great deal of diversity in members. The individual clans kept their own identities, yet still we can always find likeminded gamers to joke around with, on one of our servers, TeamSpeak or whatnot. We have an odd bunch of happy people with whom you can always have a laugh or are willing to help you with whatever problem. To say it with a quote: “TGT means friendship! It’s a unique place to be and I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else”. When playing with fellow members there is – mostly – no whining, no hassle, no annoyances. TGT provides us with no-grief gaming, which is exactly what we bargained for. As stated above there are many different people in our ranks, we have game designers, programmers, server administrators, random nubcakes, retards... This results in us having come up with our very own Haunted Mod! Others don’t much care for server set-up’s, administration and the like. They are happy to leave that to the people who know what they’re doing. Everyone can profit from each other within our community. Everyone contributes his or her ingredient to the cake that is TGT. Because there is a cake, and it’s not a lie... And also very tasty! . Thanks to the members who participated in the making of this article.

Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory 6 years old |
Enemy Territory, no doubt the first online game for some of our TGT members, is now six years old. The game was released exactly six years ago, the 29th of May in 2003.
While most of us have moved on to newer games, a lot of people still play the good old W:ET. I myself played it for a few hours earlier this week, and ran into Shuku and other old friends. Despite its age, the game is still a lot of fun.
Have you never played Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, but want to give it a go? Then check out the W:ET Barracks on the Splash Damage website - it contains all the information you need to get started.
Happy Birthday Enemy Territory!

The Gathering - Urban Terror Team |

Our Urban Terror division is slowly picking up speed.
Soon, TG will be participating in the Urban Terror 2on2 Ladder at ClanBase and when the team is full we will try to play some 5on5 officials.
Our homeserver brought to us by TGT will remain as our Practise/Warserver for upcoming matches --> 217.146.93.136:27860
If you would like to take part in the TG Urban Terror Team, then contact one of the team captains Tech or Zymon at Xfire. Stay tuned for more information, lineups and latest results.
