Hi guys, well it's time for a big old update on all that's going on at TG. The past few weeks have been another of those really busy periods where so much goes on there simply hasn't been time to come and update the site. But I'm now at work waiting for some software to install, so this is the perfect time to run out and post here!
The Group Thing Firstly, our integration with TGT has gone well. As we hoped, the calibre of players in both organisations has made it very easy for people to mix and match and make new friends. Plenty of TG members now have Left 4 Dead thanks to Valve's half price offer the other week, and it's great to see some mix-team zombie splatter going on of an evening. Our ET, CSS and UrT activity has suffered a bit though, so it's now time to start upping the tempo in these divisions and getting some quality gaming in.
Counterstrike Source Our CSS Gungame server still retains it's popularity! It's great to see it full most nights. We do need to let these people know that the server is going offline in April though, and we need to start using the TGT Gungame server, as it's running exactly the same config on a even better connection. We also need to arrange some fun nights or "gathers" so we can blow the crap out of each other and have some fun
TGT Server IP: Proposed Gather: Thursdays at 7:30pm
Enemy Territory ET is still going, although once more our team has suffered from inactivity and a period of confusion thanks to our merge with TGT. Our core players are still very much here and playing, but SuperChunk has left us to join SAS as we weren't giving him enough activity and scrims to keep him interested. Fair enough and you know we'll be seeing him online still, so don't get all weepy The flip side though is that RaAge has joined us, as he was looking for a relaxed team where people don't mind if you go AFK a bit! Welcome to the team buddy Make sure you have him on xfire and that you invite him to scrim.
Urban Terror Tech, Punk and Raed are still keeping the UrT flag flying high, and we've got to thank Tech in particular for keeping things organised and for his persistence in trying to get people to play. It's time we introduced the rest of our buddies at TGT to the game, so we need to get on an organised a Gather for this, so we can get a full server. Loads of people play quake live, so persuading them to come play this should be pretty easy! Check out the forums for more.
JediKnight 2 We're STILL waiting for the TGT server to be set up, but I've been promised that it's coming soon! When it does, it'll be just the excuse we need to organise the mother of all Gathers, and see if we can't make it a monthly event (to start with) which we can use to attract all our old guys back and have some fun. Again, loads of the TGT guys have played this game in the past, and there is a genuine buzz about organising something - we should be able to get some full servers! Cl0wn, Darkvain and I will be sorting this out hopefully I've got the contact details for Andon, BW, CB, Dregot, REBD, Puff etc, so who knows!
The site We've got a discussion thread going here about how we need to re-organise the TG main site (which you are looking at now), as now we've changed the way we're using the web, we need to reflect this to our online users. If you've got some opinions or ideas please come share em! It's also a bit disappointing to see that only about half our users have bothered to come and check out the forums since we integrated them. It's sad to see so many people slip away, but maybe it's shown us who the "involved" TG users were and who was just tagging along for the ride or for memories sake. There's still time and you know we'd love to see you come and post, so get your ass in there
The Future Well, this is yet another grand chapter in the story of TG, so the future is still as blank and changeable as it ever was! The immediate plans are to ensure all our servers are sorted and supported as best they possibly can be - we've got nearly 30 servers available to us, so we need to make sure they are publicised and as fully used as possible! The website will be getting a face lift on the back of this I'm sure, and then we need to do two things. One - make sure our existing members are kept informed and in touch as best as we are possibly able and Two - we need to slowly start recruiting again, and make sure we keep growing TG for the future.
It's a big challenge, but as I write this, it's a challenge I actually think will be good for us, and I'm really excited to see where we end up! We've got some big companies behind us now, and there are some realy possibilities here.
All for now...
