Here is a video on Net Neutrality. If you've not heard of that, or aren't sure what it is. It's been around for some time, this video should explain it.

This is quite a big thing and the best that we can all do, is inform as many people as we can. All it takes is to spread the word, family, friends, collegues, everyone!

avatar Dork, it's that serious that Barack Obama adressed the issue in one of his
speeches... Search "Obama on Net Neutrality" on YouTube.

If ALL major
internet providers did this, they wouldn't lose anything... Who would you turn
to if all the major internet providers in your area did this? No-one, you
wouldn't be able to... If you wanted access to the internet, you'd have to pay
like they suggest...

This isn't a hoax...

avatar I've been a fan of AtheneWins and their videos for a while now, and I was really
happy when they started to make the IPower clips about Net Neutrality. It's an
issue I believe strongly in.

I think compromising smaller things like paying
for certain amounts of access gives precedence for larger rights taken away.

For instance, where I live, there is really only 1 internet provider around,
so there is no choice. And that corporation is affiliated with other
corporations. Think of how they could use this to their interests. They could
limit access to content that may be unfavorable to any of the companies, such as
their competitors (and their affiliates). Say some workers want to unionize in a
workplace, and their employer is a partner of the internet provider. There could
be absolutely nothing wrong with simply not including any of their
labor-organizing sites in a reasonably priced internet package.

All because

avatar tbh i hope so. The net was born free, might have been intended as a commercial
tool eventually but a whole generation has grown up with this amazing free
resource...

They will have a fight on their hands unless they manage to do it
via stealth.

They also need EVERY isp to agree, otherwise the ones who don't
will clean up the marketplace cos everyone will rush in and use them.
